COMING UP...

Saturday, August 22nd ~ A Trio of CT Authors

Matthew Goldman, perhaps better known as Constant Waterman, will be our guest with his newly released MoonWind, Sailing Hither and Yon and several other titles he has authored and illustrated. MoonWind is Waterman's 26 ft. sloop on which he has had many an adventure sailing the waters of Southeastern Connecticut.

Local author Wick Griswold is the author of several books on Connecticut including one that tells the story of his own family, who has a rich history in Old Lyme dating back to the 1600's.

Bill Siss, author of recently published Connecticut Beer: A History of Nutmeg State Brewing, has taken his journalistic background to deeply explore a subject that hails back to our colonial roots when beer was the preferred way to quench one's thirst in the absence of potable drinking water. Siss traces the hoppy path to present day, when Connecticut breweries are cropping up on a very regular basis. Some samples may be available!  :)

Saturday, August 29th ~ Gris Goods

Saturday, September 5th ~ Salute to Summer, 4-7 - Sadly - until next year! - we will be closing out our Summer Social Saturdays. We'll feature some of our favorite "summer-ish" things as we bid farewell to this special, laid-back season! To go along with the relaxed summer vibe, Larry Kaplan will play in the Gris Courtyard just outside our door! We'll uncork the wine, mix up a pitcher or two of our favorite beverages, offer samples of some of our cool dips and savor all that is special about this season. Enjoy 20% of select products that evoke summer's spirit!

Larry Kaplan   Songs for an August Moon

Songwriter/Folksinger Larry Kaplan - Singer, songwriter and instrumentalist, this talented Connecticut musician has been at his craft for many years. Kaplan's music has been described as "touching and powerful": his ballads draw from New England's rich history, many concern the sea and those who make their living upon it. He accompanies his singing with guitar, banjo and harmonica. Stop by between 5 and 7 and experience Larry Kaplan live as he performs songs from his appropriately titled, Songs for an August Moon.

 WE ARE FIVE!

Without a lot of fanfare, on Monday, May 31st, 2010 at high noon we opened our doors for business. It's been a great adventure ever since! Happily, we often hear that The Griswold Inn Store has been a wonderful addition to our campus. We are grateful to all who have patronized the Store over these past five years, many of whom have become regular customers. We look forward to welcoming new patrons and continuing serving all for countless years to come!
