British Raid on Essex 1814 -2014 Bicentennial Commemoration
May 10th ~ Essex, an officially recognized battle site on the State Register of Historic Places, will commemorate the anniversary of the British Raid on Essex, a significant historical event which took place in our charming seaport town 200 years ago. A full roster of associated activities is planned: re-enactments throughout the town, narrated boating excursions on the Connecticut River, historic walking tours, special exhibits, period teas, dinners and musical events.
